The Strata Center is the perfect place on TCU’s campus for people from the community to learn and share about their cultures and experiences. Looking at the building from the outside, a person is drawn to its unique rooftop design, which loosely mimics a train station. For many people, their heritage involves travel from another country, and The Strata Center can represent a familiar hub for the community. Once inside, visitors are encouraged to explore the various aspects of culture. They are able to attend interactive cooking and art classes, art exhibits, dance classes, guest lectures, and many more activities. The individual spaces branch towards the central tunnel, or the core of the building, where the more collaborative areas are located. An open floor plan with plenty of options for informal group gatherings encourages visitors to interact with one another in a relaxed atmosphere.
