When traveling through the Modern Museum on the second floor, the viewer is attracted to the reflected surfaces in the distance. Glimmering stalagmite shapes appear from the floor, in front of the doorway, and invite you into the space. Once inside the stalagmite and stalactite shapes cover the floors and ceiling requiring people to travel around them and create their own path. The materials of the shapes vary from solid, translucent, and reflective. Solid shapes represent clouded confusion, translucent represents beauty and clarity, and reflective represents a time to look within when moving through the space. A person can be overwhelmed by the sheer size of the shapes all around them. Although the materials used may seem light and fragile, there is also a great feeling of danger when maneuvering through because of the possibility of something falling.
